How are you with digital technology?

We help FASoS researchers & Maastricht-based institutions explore, experiment, and innovate their digital offerings.

Together, we work to build confidence and technological competence so that you can create the forward-thinking projects of your dreams.

Dream big with a supportive team

Working side-by-side, The Plant offers the space and support necessary to take risks, learn new skills, share expertise, and dream big.

We offer consulting services on projects, collaborative design sessions, and interdisciplinary expertise in merging technology with the humanities and social sciences.

Consulting

Come with a partially-developed proposal or idea and ask for feedback on the methodology, design, digital techniques, or technology that you're considering.

Co-Design

Bring an idea and work in partnership with us to bring that idea to fruition - sit side-by-side as we think our way through the project together, merging our expertise with yours.

Knowledge Transfer

Bring your curiosity and specific purpose - whether that's a video you want to edit, a digital map you dream of making to act as a public-facing output, or a dataset that you hope to analyze. With your specific project in mind, we'll teach you what you need to DIY your way to success.

Growing together

Work collaboratively or learn side-by-side in an interdisciplinary manner – at The Plant, we merge our humanities & social science backgrounds with our passion for all things tech-y.

The Plant works within three main themes to ensure we can offer genuine expertise and the most relevant emerging techniques.

Digital Storytelling

Digital storytelling integrates technology with narrative techniques to create engaging and multimodal stories to offer new ways of developing, sharing, and experiencing knowledge.

Unboxing Digital Tech

By engaging directly with tools and devices, you develop not only practical skills but also a deeper comprehension of how technology operates and interacts with the world around us.

Quantitative Data

Using computational methods to explore complex phenomena, identify patterns, and visualize data while considering ethical and legal issues when working with data, including privacy, transparency, and bias.

Who's who?

At The Plant, we aim to offer the mental, emotional, and physical space necessary to take risks, embrace failure, and dream bigger.

We offer expert advice in a wide range of humanities and social science research areas in additional to our technical and creative expertise.
