For FASoS students:
Equipment may only be used for courses or theses, and need to be supervised by a responsible staff member at FASoS. If you’d like to use something from The Plant, please talk to your professor or supervisor, explain your wishes, and then ask them to get in touch with The Plant.
Last-minute reservations are not possible, so please plan in advance (ideally two weeks or more). Equipment can be picked up (after receiving confirmation from The Plant) between 9:00 and 9:30am on the specified day. Returns occur between 4:30 and 5:00pm on the specified day.
For FASoS or UM staff:
Equipment is available for use in courses or in your own research, or for students or staff that you supervise to use.
To request use in courses, please get in contact with The Plant as soon as possible to make sure the equipment is available during your preferred time frame. Please provide details as to the amount of equipment you wish to borrow, the type, purpose, and ideal time frame. We will then let you know how we can accommodate the request. If the request is for a large course, we may request assistance in organizing sign-ups, pickups, and returns based on capacity.
For your own research or for others that you are supervising, please email us at least one week in advance (though the sooner, the better, of course!). We can also discuss what equipment or method is best suited to your research if you are unsure of what to request.
